Five workshops, five focal points
Learn all about geysers, volcanoes and other exciting topics in the learning world...
The Geysir expert team conducts exciting workshops with your students on various natural and geoscientific topics around the Geysir Andernach. Choose the workshop that suits your school class from five different topics:
(1) Hot and cold - geysers
How do hot and cold water geysers work? Is there a connection between geysers and volcanoes?
We explore with experiments what happens under the earth and let a cold water geyser erupt.
(2) Endogenous dynamics
Volcanoes and plate tectonics
or Lake Laach and the Eifel
Why and where are there volcanoes? How do they erupt? We demonstrate how magma rises from the earth's interior and which rocks are formed from it...
(3) Mineral water
What makes mineral water so special? Is the water of the Geysir Andernach healthy?
We make sparkling water, turn fresh water into salt water and explain where the minerals come from.
(4) Under pressure
Where can we experience pressure in everyday life? What is the difference between pressure and force?
With experiments on rock, water and air pressure, we clarify how pressure is created and why it is so important for the geyser.
(5) CO2 and climate
What gases does our atmosphere consist of? How does CO2 our climate?
In various experiments we look at the properties of air and the greenhouse effect.

Your opinions & experiences
Nice excursion with a nice explanation. We had a very nice trip to the geyser. The geyser was very impressive to see. Special thanks to the staff, who were very friendly and helpful, and thus made the excursion possible for us (help due to walking disability).Customer testimonial from
Absolutely recommendable! In an interactive tour, you can learn about the formation of a geyser in a playful way. The absolute highlight is the boat trip to the geyser, where you can see the natural spectacle live.Facebook Customer testimonial from

It is a wonderful hands-on museum. Even small children can try things out and explore here. Older children and adults learn a lot of new things. The accompanying boat trip is a highlight. The geyser experience at the end is just great. The staff are polite and nice. Very helpful. The museum is also suitable for prams. Parking is scarce, but with a bit of luck you can get to the...Customer testimonial from
