Geyser Expedition with your school class
Exciting offers for children and young people
The geological phenomena of our planet are an exciting field of science. And the great scientists who are written about in history books were all once children. That's why the team from Geysir Andernach wants to awaken the spirit of research in young people in particular at the Learning World.
The learning world of the Geysir Andernach imparts knowledge for children and young people about the geyser. Geyser - to participate in, in a clear, understandable and age-appropriate way.
A visit with your school class consists of...
- a hands-on workshop on a natural or geoscientific topic
- a guided tour through our multimedia museum
- the boat transfer to the geyser
- the eruption of the highest cold water geyser in the world and the return trip by ship
The school program is appropriate for grades four through thirteen and is tailored to students' interests, ages, and prior knowledge.
The total duration is about 3.5 - 4 hours, cost per student 13.50 € (per 10 students one accompanying person free).
By the way, we offer the holiday programme "Nature Detectives " in the summer holidays or - weather permitting - also in the Easter and autumn holidays for holiday leisure groups. You hike with the children through nature to the geyser and wash "gold" on the banks of the Rhine.
Five workshops, five focal points
In one of our hands-on workshops, the pupils learn interesting facts about a natural or geoscientific topic related to the Geysir Andernach in a vivid way - no question remains unanswered!
Choose the topic of your choice from our range together with your students!
Multimedia museum with great exhibits for pupils
After the workshop, you and the students take a shaft lift 4,000 m down into the Geysir Museum. The group is accompanied exclusively by a scout.
The museum extends over several floors. The rooms were elaborately designed by a team of freelance set designers - work that was definitely worthwhile. Some of the sets seem so real that you have the feeling you are actually in an abandoned quarry or a slate cave deep underground.
Multimedia exhibits are scattered everywhere. Here, the young researchers in your school class can drill, pump or regulate air currents. In this way, the children and young people learn to encounter the phenomena of the earth with fun and excitement.
