Is it possible to visit the geyser without a boat trip?
No, unfortunately that is not possible. The visit takes place exclusively on the geyser ship "MS Namedy", which departs from the Andernach Rhine facilities.
Is it possible to reserve tickets?
How do I register my group for the Geyser Expedition?
How long does the visit to the Geysir Andernach last?
You should plan around 3 hours for the entire expedition at the Andernach geyser.
When does the expedition start?
You can choose between 4 time slots every day. You can find an overview of the geyser expeditions here: Book tickets
Is the ship waiting for late guests?
The departure times of the boat depend on the eruption times of the geyser. Therefore, it is unfortunately not possible to wait for late guests.
Is the Geysir Andernach attraction accessible for the disabled?
The facility is certified barrier-free in all areas (Geysir Museum, ship and Geysir grounds) at level 2 for people with walking disabilities. (An accompanying person is recommended).
Can dogs be brought to the Geysir Andernach ?
No. The visit to the Geysir Museum should be a relaxing and informative experience for every visitor. Bringing dogs or pets would be a high stress factor not only for the animals themselves. For safety reasons, out of consideration for other visitors and to protect the exhibits, dogs (with the exception of disabled companion dogs) are not allowed in the museum or on the geyser grounds. We ask for your understanding.
What do I have to pay attention to regarding the weather?
The waiting area at the ship and also the geyser area offer little or no protection from strong sun or rain. Please therefore remember to bring sufficient sun protection and, if necessary, weatherproof clothing and an umbrella.
Parking
Where can I park with a coach?
Parking is available at the municipal car park "Am Bollwerk", which is also located on Konrad-Adenauer-Allee. Parking for coaches is free of charge. The walk to the Geysir Museum is about 200 metres. Coaches can stop briefly in the lay-by in front of the Geysir Museum to let guests off. Then the bus must be parked properly.
Parking with car
Parking is available in the municipal car park "Am Bollwerk", which is also located on Konrad-Adenauer-Allee, approx. 250 metres from the Geysir Museum. Please park only in the part of the car park designated for cars. Parking on the bus or camper van parking spaces is against the regulations. The municipal car parks are subject to a charge.
Nice excursion with a nice explanation.
We had a very nice trip to the geyser. The geyser was very impressive to see. Special thanks to the staff, who were very friendly and helpful, and thus made the excursion possible for us (help due to walking disability).

Absolutely recommendable! In an interactive tour, you can learn about the formation of a geyser in a playful way. The absolute highlight is the boat trip to the geyser, where you can see the natural spectacle live.

It is a wonderful hands-on museum. Even small children can try things out and explore here. Older children and adults learn a lot of new things. The accompanying boat trip is a highlight. The geyser experience at the end is just great. The staff are polite and nice. Very helpful.
